Corowa Border District Band

Welcome to the Corowa Border District Band

With a history dating back to 1874, the Corowa Border District Band is considered to be one of the longest serving brass band’s in Australia. With the exceptions of a few breaks during the war and the years of the great depression, the band has provided the community with continuos service.
Over the years many junior members have gone on to become accomplished musicians and made successful careers in music. The band has a long and proud history in the Corowa district

The band provides music for local community events such as Australia Day, ANZAC Day and Federation Festival each year. Karinya House and Pheiffer Wines are both regular venues for the band.

Band on the move!

Just before Christmas the Band committee made an approach to the Corowa Shire Council to acquire space at the newly completed Corowa Civic Centre. Last week it was announced to the committee that we have successfully secured a place at the Civic Centre for the Band to rehearse. This is great news for the Band, with the advent of the growth within the Band and the learners classes the existing bandroom is becoming inadequate.

The venue is ideal for the Band to rehearse with a relatively large performance area which is acoustically better and has more room for the band to set up. With easy access from the car park and no more stairs we can move gear with greater ease. The move is anticipated to happen soon, with a full calendar for the next three weeks we need to pencil in a weekend working bee for the shift.

At this point I would like to express the Corowa Border District Band’s appreciation for allocating this space for the Band in which rehearse and store our equipment.
